Through our partnership with South Hills Elementary, Doxology has seen God work powerfully—transforming kids’ lives and strengthening the life of the school through mentoring relationships.
With just one hour a week, you can make an eternal impact. As a Hero2Hero reading mentor, you’ll help a student grow in confidence, build stronger reading skills, and experience the love of Jesus through your care and consistency.

FAQ:
What kind of training do I need to become a mentor?
You will need to attend a training provided by the directors of Hero2Hero. You will learn procedures and policies of South Hills and the H2H program plus grade specific strategies for mentoring. You will also be required to complete a student safety course and background check through Ministry Safe. A volunteer application from FWISD is also required.
How often will I mentor?
Once per week between 30-45 minutes—the same day and time each week. This is an agreed upon time and day between the mentor and the teacher.
Do I only mentor one student?
One on one time with a student is one thing that makes the program so successful. However, you can choose to mentor more than one student per week.
What if I am unable to mentor a week or two throughout the school year?
That is not a problem. You will need to communicate with the teacher via email or text to let them know.
I do not have educational experience. Is that ok?
Yes! You have access to experienced master teachers who can help you choose activities and goals for your student.

Kingdom Come is an invitation for all of us to engage Jesus' invitation to allow His goodness and grace to increasingly rule every area of our hearts so that good news multiplies from every heart and every home; beginning with ours.

Join us on Sunday, Dec 28th, at 10:30am for a Family Worship Service - your kids are invited to attend with you! This special service will be planned with the whole family in mind and will be engaging for people and kids of all ages. Invite with your family or friends, come with your Community Group, or just come alone! Either way, we hope to worship with you! Please note, there will not be a 9am service on Dec 28th. Children's Ministry will be available for birth through Pre-K. Kindergarten and up are invited to join you in service.
